I'm going to be honest here. I've heard nothing but good things about the Rezound. I don't have it, but everyone I've heard has nothing but good things to say about the phone.

If I wasn't unlocked bootloader bound (Nexus), i'd probably go ahead and jump ship from my D1 to the Rezound. But a lot of D1 owners have been waiting for another vanilla phone and I can't pass that up.

As for your question, use your upgrade when you see a phone that will satisfy you for two years. Don't upgrade and then be bummed when 15 days later you decide it's not for you.

I went from a D1 to the Rezound and while I have had problems, this thing is light years ahead of the Droid. I am happy with my purchase. I honestly don't think any phone anymore is going to get 8-10 hours of video use. That's just too much power being used.

Thanks again, folks, I just went ahead and ordered one from Amazon, hope the quest for a new phone is coming to its logical end.

Those of you who already have Rezound, any major issues with the unit getting too hot while watching video or gaming, for example? My Droid gets pretty hot at times which really bugs me actually. It may be useful for someone living up north to warm hands outside during the winter. But I am in Florida, therefore, not dying to have another phone that melts in my hand.

The screen is a HD one and so during use it does get fairly warm. I watched the game yesterday on the NFL network on the phone and could tell the battery got warm. Wasn't as hot as my D1 usd to get, but it was fairly warm anyway. I wouldn't worry.

The Rezound is a awesome device,i upgraded from the thunderbolt and it was a huge improvement.I heavily use this phone and it has yet to get extremely hot like my Droid use to get.The only thing this phone lacks is full root but I'm sure we will have it soon.i was ready to jump ship and get the nexus but I'm going to hold onto this device.

Rumours say that Nexus is about to be launched at Verizon, something like 12/20 this year? But besides the Ice Cream ROM and AMOLED screen (still debating issue), nothing really bits Rezound. The Ice Cream will be available for Rezound soon anyway. Plus it has faster processor, removable card, better camera and etc....

Yeah, and when I was debating myself between the two people also chimed in that the Nexus will hav the NFC google wallet... And look what VZW did to that. People think it will be vanilla... I don't believe it for a second. it will have plenty of bloat.

Probably the best proven way to make Rezound even faster is getting rid of all Verizon bloatware. It is reported to guzzle ~500 megs of RAM even after all attempts to stop related services....
Who would need V-Cast on a smartphone with LTE? C'mon Verizon market department people, wake up and smell coffee.
