Camera Freeze

Anyone have there camera freeze after taking a pic. 2 times this week I've taken a pic, no shutter sound and the pic of what I took stays on screen. I can back out and go to the gallery and that pic is not there. When I go back into the camera that pic is still there. Both times I went into Applications and cleared data and forced close but then the camera will not come up at all. Rebooted both times and that got it back.

I've been having this issue but mine is a little more severe. Phone was working fine, taken 200 some pictures and all of a sudden during a normal picture the screen flashes black as it makes its click sound and never come back, phone stays on, buttons lit up and locked up with a black screen. Have to force a reset by pulling the battery out and after it restarts i lose all connectivity to the phone (no 4G, 3G, 2G, 1G), nothing. So restart the phone again and its stuck in a restart loop.

So master reset it and its fine again.

Another 200 pictures and two weeks later it does it again. no apps, nothing new. Phones locked up and requiring a master reset again.

I am having the exact same issue, though not sure how many pictures between when it happens. Hopefully this is fixed with the OTA ICS upgrade.

Have you tried any 3rd party camera apps? Sounds like Sense is the problem here.

Would you mind recommending a good camera app?

Give Vignnette a try. The full version isn't free but the trial version will help to see if it's the stock camera not playing nice.
I'd also suggest take a look for any weird file names in your gallery as that could be the culprit as well

Are those of you that have issues with the camera, ever clearing your cache or at least using the built in task manager to clear out the running apps? This sounds like more of a memory problem, than the actual camera. I assume that you are more than likely having this issue when memory becomes low.
Clearing cache is a habit of mine since my Blackberry days (battery pulls) and it really helps to keep things running smooth. I take about 20+ pics a day for work, then transfer them to my computer for editing and I have to say that I have never had this problem. I also admit that I have 3 batteries that I put into rotation, so I'm doing a battery pull every other day or so. This could be one of the main reasons for my lack of this problem. I also use the paid version of "Quicker" in the Play Store and it has a widget to view and clear all cache or just cache from a single app. Like many apps though, it doesn't work that well with ICS. Try clearing you cache to see if that doesn't help you out.
