HTC Passion Rumors

Well after doing some research I’m 90% positive as to what this phone is…
Its the HTC Passion! A CDMA version that resembles the HTC Dragon (with slightly less specs as far as we can tell, one being the smaller screen size) that is headed to Verizon.

This would explain the similarities that people noticed about the buttons and the white notification bar from the Motorola Sholes (Droid); Verizon is trying to keep things a little similar on all their Droid devices and it’s not the HTC Desire, which is a Verizon branding of the HTC Hero (a 3.2 inch screen, which this phone definitely does not have).

You might have heard of the HTC Passion a few times so the name might ring a bell. It is the rumored handset that is supposed to be coming to Verizon in Q4 with a snapdragon OMAP? processor, Android 2.0, and be the Android equivalent device that comes close to the HTC HD2 (Leo).

If this is true, then you have some nice Droid choices on Verizon; Motorola Sholes (”Droid”) for those who need the keyboard, HTC Desire for those who can live without the keyboard but like a smaller device (and smaller price tag), and the HTC Passion for those who want a huge screen and need the faster processor.

they should have put the snapdragon processor in the eris. and the hd2 is freaking beautiful..

Big concern here is going to be battery life. From what I have read, the Snapdragon is fast, but will eat your battery in no time.

For those who liked the Eris over the Droid today, (like me) I suggest waiting for the Passion. Will most likely be debuted around Black Friday (we will probably be seeing some more rumors in the upcoming weeks) and will probably be running 2.0. This is just IMO by the way.

+1 Hockey. Had the same experience today. I am going to play it smart and see what comes of these Passion rumors. I thought I was dead-set on the Droid, but overall feel and the physical keyboard being junk was a deal breaker for me.

Exactly, and I have a feeling like the Passion will be praised BETTER than the Droid and Eris, being it released closer to holiday rush.

I think this will be released on November 27... On the droiddoes website, the last Time Square advertising ends on this date, but it runs for 20 hours straight. Maybe this is when Verizon plans to unveil their new smartphone?

IM with you guys here i like the Eris but i think im gonna wait and see if the Passion will be released anytime soon.... I will be going to check the droid and eris out today in person to see whats what....

Their Times Square dates are curious, aren't they? It looks like they are daily through Nov. 20th, then nothing at all until Nov. 27th. Since Nov. 27th is Black Friday, it would fit perfectly with a new droid.

One can hope.
