For those who have the Incredible already...
Is the full amount of ram available? Did HTC ship the fixed kernel?
If you don't know, what kernel is being show in about phone?
Thanks to hedney3 finding the screencap for me
Not awe inspiring....the .29 kernel does NOT have the highmem fixes. Might be a beware to folks who are on the fence on when to buy this. I'd wait, unless they backported the highmem fixes, which I kind of doubt. I really wish that someone with an Incredible in hand could check for me.
Nexus had/has this same issue....
A gun in the hand is better than a cop on the phone.

It means exactly as a I said. While the hardware may indeed be 512mb of ram, the OS cannot address (use and/or see) all of it until the fixed kernel is in place.
Ever used Linux some years ago when you had to pass highmem switches to the kernel while booting to see more than 64mb of ram?
