    .sbf is basically the system file for the phone. You can flash it using RSD Lite to bring it back to stock everything.

    Root is awesome. Right now I am running the latest Gingerbread leak and loving it.

    It was worth it to me. Thing to remember is that there are very few "how-to"s available. You have to read through a lot of conversations between the experts on these forums to get the info you need. They can be ... cryptic ... at times.
    That said, rooting and flashing ROMS are very easy, so long as you follow the instructions.
    My present setup has lots more options for customization, and dramatically longer battery life than the stock (HTC) ROM.

    Do as much research as possible. I made sure I knew how to sbf (on the dinc its ruu) before I rooted just so I would know what to do in case of a freakout. But once you go root, you will never be able to go back. I mean come on, you'll be a superuser, not just a user haha
