bump...
Anyone?
I haven't tried, but would a long press bring up any options?
Long press just gives the option to move or delete the shortcut. I would love to have a shortcut rename feature be available too.
Me too, just posted elsewhere before seeing this. I don't have an answer, I'm looking for same thing you are, sjleader.
What I don't like: shortcut is by default named according to first person (by alpha sort ) whose name in contact list has that phone #. I have many clients w/ a main # and many individuals. I don't want the shortcut to show the first individual, I want it to show the company.
Or: I want a button that says "home," and one that says "office." Now, I have to add an individual (one of my kids, to get home #, or a coworker, to get office #.) That's not gonna kill me. But: I have other shortcuts for those individuals already, and now I have to stop to think which shortcut is for the main # and which shortcut is for that same individual's cell, esp since the shortcut names are cut off and you can't see the full text, so you essentially have to memorize the icon placement on screen and that's just sloppy. I want to name the shortcut in a way that's meaningful to me. Possible?
Forum Admin: I posted a similar msg on a related thread, but this one seems more relevant, feel free to bump the other.
Look for an app on the Market called BetterCut. I think it'll do what your asking.
Perfect, thanks.
I found AnyCut (free) when searching, and will upgrade to BetterCut (pd) if I can see the enhanced value. Thanks much for the tip.
