Try this:
- Press the Menu button and go to Settings -> Wireless & networks -> Wi-fi Settings
- Once there, press the menu button again and select "Advanced"
- Select "Wi-fi sleep policy" and make sure "When screen turns off" is NOT selected. If it is, change it to one of the other ones.
Dan,
Thanks so much. I never have seen that screne before, but the wrong selection was activated. I changed it and all is well.

Thanks Dan for posting that tip. Hopefully sometime soon a complete user guide/tutorial is available. Seems I spend a lot of time going through forum posts learning tips and tricks. Or if there is a guide available somewhere a link would be appreciated.
Just got my Eris today and so far it's a nice little unit.

Even after changing the wifi sleep to never it still was off this morning (phone was on all night) and I had to manually reconnect. Not really a big deal but it'd be nice if never meant never.

I too have set my wifi to never turn off but I may wake up and try to use it and it wont respond. I have to reboot the phone which I shouldnt have to do. When I leave my house it does not always reconnect either. Any one else having these problems or have any suggestions?
yes, When I leave my house I can't get it to reconnect when I return. EVen a reboot doesn't fx the problem.
