In my opinion the Eris is holding a LOT of people back from getting the Nexus One because of the poor reviews on the Eris.
What does the Motorola Droid do that the Eris can't? With the leaked 2.1 upgrade, I can do just as much as my friend with the Motorola Droid. Only difference is the physical keyboard and the screen size IMO.

Huh? This doesn't make sense.
Of course, I could always go over to the MotoDroid board and bash that brick if I wanted to I guess. But I'd rather stay here and talk about how cool my Eris is.

In the end I chose the Eris because 1) it fits better in my hand, and 2) it cost me 80 bucks. I'm glad I did...as it turns out, this phone does everything I want it to, and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg to get it

Let's all do that!

Just last friday we went to bestbuy to check out the droid's in person and found out that with the two year contract the eris was free! But besides that the eris was soooo much better as far as the feel of it. The moto droid is way to clunky. Dont kno how anyone after comparing the two in person can pick the moto but I guess to each their own. Maybe the moto is a little bit faster but definitely doesnt make up for what it loses physically. And the physical keyboard is a complete joke. Needless to say I'm very happy with the eris. If anyone is reading this trying to decide... the eris will not disappoint. I'm a world edition bb convert and this thing blows it out of the water. Takes a bit to get use to but once you do you'll notice the eris has taken the best and most convenient features from other phones and put them into this delight of a smart phone. Go get one!!

I'm a google fan boy and the fact that it's android I bought it. I would have gotten the moto droid but the Eris was $100 cheaper and the only difference I saw was the lack of a keyboard which didn't bother me.

I agree that the look of the Android is horrible and I thought it was too big for my hand (I am only 5'0" and very petite). I liked the feel of the Eris, especially the rubberized backing, and I like the touch screen. The guy at Best Buy let me try his and it is so user friendly! The touch keyboard took some getting used to, but after I learned it, I wouldn't go back to a regular keyboard if you paid me a million dollars!

Droid camera is 5.0 megapixels and has a flash, (not sure Eris megapixel, but I know there is no flash), Droid comes with 16MB micro SD card (vs. Eris 8MB) and the Droid has built in GPS, so you get turn by turn directions without having to subscribe to V-Cast. I have had my Droid for about a month and absolutely LOVE it.

I was thinking the same thing, but vice versa.
