    Droid Eris

    Im thinking of buying a refurbished on Ebay if this wasnt on 2.2 yet would there be an update on the phone when i turn it on. It looks like the seller is a outlet store could be an old phone but just wondering if it should already have 2.2? Experts please

    No, 2.2 was never "released" to the Eris. The phone barely handled 2.1.
    I touched Lord Stanley's Cup on 1/2/11.

    Get it, root it, and put you some gingerbread on it. My wife's is running GingerShedBread and it works great. The Devs that ported GB and Froyo to the eris are amazing!

    This is the one im buying i dont have it yet wouldnt it have an update in system tools when i turn it on. I got this for 58.00 on Ebay cause small featherline at the top to the right. I think a screen protector should do the job. Im gonna use this as prepaid thru VZW. Should this be easy to root im sure its only 2.1 right now? I buying it from an outlet store. Do you know what model # this one is it has a 5.0 MP? Im new to Android

    Not sure of the model # or what mp the camera is, but you can find that out by going hereHTC Mobile Phones - DROID ERIS Verizon - Overview.
    Rooting is pretty easy, but take the time to learn what you're doing before you attempt it. Check here for a wealth of info on development for the eris. Droid Eris Android Development - xda-developers

    This is not true. My wife is still using the 2.1 push AND the update to 2.1 that was pushed. She has no complaints with her phone.

    I am running 2.3 on my rooted Eris. [shrug]
