Noob to Droid Eris

I recently decided to try a friend's Droid Eris... I have a rooted Droid X running GB, so I'm not a noob to hacking. However I've never dealt with HTC. Can someone walk me through hacking/ flashing new ROMs on tjis phone?

one click is quick and easy, but root for dummies will hand walk you thru root and nand backup at the same time.
both xtrrom and xtrsense are very stable 2.1 roms and gsb is a stable, but not final, 2.3 rom. i have not personally flashed any 2.2 roms so someone else will have to chime in on that.

Nothing beats xtrRom for stability and fetures .its got it all and as fast as an incredible .2.2 and higher you loose all the HTC goodies like sense clock and HTC wedgits.you will miss them when you go to anything senseless.

Even though I'm no longer on the Eris, I happen to have made my own stock 2.2 froyo ROM a few months ago which is EXTREMELY STABLE! The link is in my signature below.

Before you flash anything, make sure you make a nand backup through your recovery menu.

Wipe data+dalvik cache

Flash. Enjoy!
