    Exclamation rooting help.... i know i know...

    so i searched but with no luck im stuck in my rooting.


    i recently got the eris from my sister who upgraded. i moved from the bb bold.

    any ways, i did a hard reset to get rid of her crap and decided it was a good time to root it. so i did using the gingerbread v8.

    so far so good other than the fact that i cannot connect to the google servers and the app store is missing. this is keeping me from downloading my contacts from google.

    i fell like i missed some steps in the process and hopefully havent screwed the phone up.


    im at a dead end and would love some help.

    Gingerbread v8 from where? Was there a Gapps package to flash with the ROM?

    i put kaosgingerbread v8 on there.....

    is there a better one to put on there?

    i also tried froyo vs39 but had problems and i really like the gingerbread.

    i dont remember seeing google apps package.

    its still having a hard time syncing my contacts with google.

    It would not hurt to try another ROM if the one you are using isnt working. After the FroYo incident on my wifes phone, she wont let me even discuss flashing GB on it... YET!

    i tried this

    and it worked (still with no marketplace) but im having trouble activating the phone on verizon.
