How do I block caller id in a droid eris?

Am I missing something? I've searched all over this phone, and the online manual, to no avail. This seems like a basic feature that all cell phones should have. I have certain contacts that I need to hide my phone number from. There must be more than just dialing *67.

For those contacts you want to block your number from, just edit the phone number in the contact area to include the call block code.
Example: *67pxxx-xxx-xxxx

This way every time you call the number will be blocked. Even using voice dial etc.
