    Unhappy cannot sync after rooting/adding froyo

    after 5 hours of droid hell, i was finally able to have my eris rooted with the froyo rom added.

    i made sure to sync all of my contacts via htc sync before doing all of this and now i can't get it to sync.

    when i plug the phone into the usb into the computer, my only options are to transfer files & debug. the computer can see the phone (f:drive) but sync does not see the phone.

    help?

    5 hours? Thats rough. What ROM are you running? I dont use HTC Sync on my wifes phone. It is possible the app was removed as "bloat" on that ROM.

    Yeah... the original root downloadable file was corrupt so I had to continue to find other versions. Then it couldn't locate the zip file of the ROM. I had to flash twice.

    I'm running kaos's froyo for Eris. My darned FB contacts didn't sync either so I had to download one from the market for $1.

    I did the HTC sync before all of this this morning, so I know It's possible. I just don't know how possible? It's never just easy...

    U should try the cfs v8 kernel, kaos was really buggu for me until I flashed the kernel. Also the nonsensikal rom seems a little faster and smoother than kaos, kaos still one of my favorite tho.

    for HTC sync to work you have to be running a sence based Rom, to get your contacts back you can flash a 2.1 or 2. 2 since based Rom resync your contacts with HTC force a Google sync, then when you flash back to kf and sync your Google acct it will load your contacts, for picture sync a free app that works well is syncmypics in the market
