    Not that I'm aware of but I could be wrong. There's a thread here that lists what's compatible though. I believe the thread is just called "z4root".

    There's the list from Ryan (developer), don't see the Eris listed in either one though. I'd send him an email and ask if it will work or not...worst he'll say is no right?

    ROM manager works on my wifes eris, although some people have had trouble with it on theirs. I guess z4 doesn't, but there are other root methods available. Read through the threads hereDroid Eris Android Development - xda-developers for more info.
