Have you tried adding the market as a seperate zip. For example the way I have had to do it for libertys epic blue and infinate caos.

Problem I'm running into is, some versions of the Market work, some don't. It's all related to permissions, but the permissions are being set properly.

I went on a downloading spree and downloaded and used the Market from Apex, Liberty, and Fission.

Apex doesn't work (2.2.11)
Liberty works (2.2.11)
Fission works (2.2.7)

That's what I find odd. 2 markets, same version, 2 different outcomes. I'm trying to isolate it, but I'm finding it makes me want to stab someone.

In case anyone wants to take a stab at this and provide some suggestions while I'm at work, this is the error that's being thrown:

E/DatabaseUtils( 1433): java.lang.SecurityException: Permission Denial: writing com.google.android.gsf.settings.GoogleSettingsProvider uri content://com.google.settings/partner from pid=1680, uid=10007 requires com.google.android.providers.settings.permission.WRITE_GSETTINGS

I've:

1. Attempted to correct permissions using Root Tools (JRummy), no success
2. Attempted to re-sign the APK, with no success
3. Attempted having the APK run from /data instead of /system, with no success (as if it were applied as an update)

Keep in mind, the most interesting thing about this has been, the Vending.apk (version 2.2.11, themed) from Liberty-D2 2.0.1 works flawlessly. The Vending.apk from Apex 1.4.1 (version 2.2.11, unthemed) crashes constantly, with the above error as does the 2.3.6 market I had originally included, which was pulled from my D2G that I actually use (I received it OTA), and don't dev on.

I have a copy of 2 versions of the market 2.3.6 from liberty. If you want I am willing to flash them with your rom tomorrow to see if they would work.

Neither the themed or stock 2.3.6 markets from Liberty work. There goes that idea lol. Same error is thrown.
