About LinkBacksI've got a moto droid 1 with android 2.2 and I'm debating rooting cause I want wifi tether mostly for my xbox, but since I know it voids warranty I don't wanna have to worry about ruining anything and also keep everything I have now, how do I go about this? I have downloaded universal androot to do it with also is this a good root software?

11-15-2010 04:53 PMRooting has its pros and cons.... But so far as u voiding ur warranty, u can unroot and Verizon or Motorola will never know that u rooted ur Droid.... As far as Universal Root, idk because I used DM Updater to root mine and I root my girlfriend's with the Root regardless of OS version guide on this forum... But I have experience with the newest rooting method called z4root which is free in the market and it is easy as pushing a button, since that is all u have to do, lol...... Hope this was helpful....

11-15-2010 05:27 PMI don't see any app called superuser, and it said app force closed while it was rooting, then it like was freezing, I tried to turn it off and it went back to z4 and said sumn along the lines of finishing root then rebooting, should I try again?

11-15-2010 05:58 PMYou can now overclock the processor of the phone to make it run faster. Load a custom rom and kernel first. If your running the droid 1 use rom manager for all of that
