need help with rooting a droid with 2.2

So im trying to figure out how to actually root my phone cause it has 2.2 rigth now and i have no idea what the process is to get it rooted, i know there is a thing called easyroot but i have no card to purchase it with so i was hoping to find out how to do it the old fashion way.

Root Droid 1 - regardless of OS version

Try this ... a little lengthy but IMO that's all the better! Not a big fan of the one-touch "wonders" ... you need an understanding of what is is you're doing. This was if you encounter issues after you root, you're better equipped to deal with it.

Good luck and my advice is read and research as much as you can until you feel comfortable with what you're reading. And of course ask questions! This forum is filled with great people willing to help.
