About LinkBacksI tethered my phone using pdalink, and it worked fine for my laptop, this is not a question of how to tether. I want to know if theres a way to make my driod into a wireless hot-spot without being connected to my computer, and that will connect devices such as ipods to the internet. is this at all possible? will i have to root my droid?

09-29-2010 11:36 PMYou'll have to root to get wireless tethering on your Droid. There will be some difficulties connecting iPods and the like as the Droid only supports ad-hoc tethering, but your laptop should have no issues whatsoever.

As furbearingmammal said, it is NOT a true wifi hotspot, but rather an ad-hoc connection. I dont own an iPod, so I cant confirm or dispute MNull's claims, but I know for a fact my kids Nintendo DSi's will not connect.I touched Lord Stanley's Cup on 1/2/11.
