Easiest Way To Restore Apps And Data After Custom ROM Updates?

Well, for my first few experiences backing up and restoring apps when installing custom ROMs, I was using Simply Stunning, and so I simply used bkapps and rstapps. Now that I'm using Bugless Beast, what is the best way to backup and restore when loading a new ROM after a wipe? Titanium makes me hit "install" for -every single app- when restoring, which takes about an hour of me actively using my phone. I tried googling a way to not have that happen, but couldn't find any.

So basically, what is the best way to backup and restore apps when not using a ROM that supports terminal commands to do it?

Bugless v5 has some new app restore features that I haven't looked into much. But the titanium thing caught my eye, there should be a screen on there labeled "batch" where you can backup, and restore, all the apps with just a few clicks.

The thing is that I DO use the batch options, but in the batch restore, everytime it installs a backed up app, I have to choose to allow it to install.

I just let mine sit for half an hour to restore all my downloaded apps from the market. Any that don't install I restore from backup.

I don't believe there is a way to make it easy. I too had to allow each app to install. It would be nice to just do it once like the new update all button in the downloads on FROYO.

If you have the paid for version it does. I've used it several times. If fact in can be too good. If you change versions or drastically different roms and restore everything you get a screwed up phone.

Most of my data is handled by Google. I only have two apps that MUST have restored data. So I restore apps without data, then restore the two missing apps. Then let google sync handle contacts and calendar. My email is via imap on K9 and I can either resetup the mail or restore it. It will change when new mail arrives anyway. I don't care about sms or text messages.

Titanium has always worked great for me. Yes you have to backup each app (free version) before installing a new ROM (where data and cache wipe are required) but, my apps have always came back to my phone within 10-15 minutes after my initial boot.
I also use SMS Backup & Restore to keep my texts and MMS.

Donate version of Titanium = 1 click install of all apps and data.

easiest way IMO so you dont lose any data within the apps. such a great app.

Nice...that is good to know. I didn't know that if you bought it, it would be quicker. Might consider that if I change my stuff again later. Hopefully when the release of Gingerbread comes out. Can't wait.
