Please Help Me Back to Stock!!! DI

I've spent hours trying to get back to stock 2.1 but can't seem to get it. I tried using "Droid Incredible Downgrade From Leaked OTA" but after getting to the point where I recieve the error message telling me that the main version is older than the one I am using, then I don't reboot and go into recovery and I just get the red triangle with the exclaimation point. So I guess I'm getting that because I'm not rooted. Now everytime I try to root, I get the impression it doesn't work because I have 2.2. I downloaded unrevoked2 (since 3 is temporarily unavailable?) but when I open it, it keeps telling me "waiting for device." I'm extremely frustrated!!! Please help me!!
