    No sir!
It'd replaced recovery image, installed SU and Busybox. You would still have same OS but w/ SU access.
For me rooting phone is to be able to install custom roms so there is no point of keeping VZ craps
    Happy rooting.

    Making sure...

So all my contacts will be intact, all my apps, and their settings and my phone number and all right. Sorry but I have a lot of stuff on my droid and I don't want to take a risk. Thanks for the quick reply!

Thumbs down Root Droid 1 WORKS! What is the timing of step #10

Thank you Abe21599. Your method, Root Droid 1 - regardless... worked after a few tries on FRG22D.

Step #10, the crux of the process, still leaves me wondering a bit. I'm still uncertian of the timing of starting RSDlight and pressing the up button. I did it and it worked, but I'm betting others would find the process easier if the timing of that step were explained just a bit more.

The reason you have to hold up is because you need to catch the reboot so you can complete the sbf write with a PASS. Otherwise it will boot into the os. Once it boots past recovery the FRS will take over and undo what you did by flashing the sbf file.
I know only because it happened to me.
