    root explorer help!!!!!!!!!!

I got a ringtone off of phonezoo and I figured out how to get it as a ringtone, but it won't let me make it a text ringtone. So I figured if I can find the "music" folder on root explorer I can move the ringtone to the notifications file? Can anyone help?

Did you create a music folder? If so move the ringtone there. If you did not create a folder do a search for one of your songs and that will tell you where the music is stored.

Create a new folder on your sd card called Media. It needs to be in the root of the sd card. Get Astro file manager from the market (or use root explorer).

Under Media, create new folders like this

    \Media
    ..\Audio
    ....\Alarms
    ....\Music
    ....\Notifications
    ....\Ringtones
    ..\Video
    ....\Movies
    ....\Videos

Put your new ringtone in the Notifications folder and the phone will see it and allow you to select it. There is no need to put any audio files in the system folder.

You can try rebooting the phone, but it usually picks up on the sd card folders right off. Otherwise, maybe it's too long for a notification vs. ringtone? There's an app called ( I think ) Zedge that has lots of ringtones/notifacations.

That's not enough info. You can rename if you want to. Is it in the appropriate folder on the card? Reboot just for heck of it yet? And yeah, as Mbk asked, what's the file extension?

It's not in the 'Download' folder on your SDCard?
