    Calendar = Battery hog?

    So i successfully rooted my 2.1 today and then i notice the sync icon next to the ringer volume icon. Later on that day i notice that my battery just gets drained. I go see whats occupying it and the phone says that the Calendar is drinking it. the included packages are Calendar storage and Calendar. (BTW i do have the pure calendar widget. So any answers as to what i should do and what the sync icon is?
