This proceedure should be followed closely. When I read this initially it went this way: Remove the battery and plug in the usb cable to the phone. Plug the phone/usb into the computer with the battery out. Start RSD lite. Hold up on the D pad(phone in landscape) and insert the battery. Select the sbf file. Click the start button and follow the onscreen instuctions.

I have never had RSD show completed but always reach %100 and have it tell me to power up the phone manually. At this point I power off the phone by removing the battery and then put it back in after I disconect from the computer.
    I'd root that!

I was taking a close up picture of a huge frog with its head half out of a creek.. then I decided to prod it with my phone. It leaped, and my phone went into a quarter inch of water. I grabbed it, but it immediately was messed up (I don't have a back cover, it's long gone).

Any more questions you wished you hadn't asked?

FWIW, flashing to anything before 2.1, you will not receive an OTA update. You will have to push the most recent update to your phone.

    Talking Thank you!!!

Dude, u saved me!!! My phone was screwed after a forced the 2.2 update with a broken file. Then I thought I bricked it with, what I guess, was a bad sbf file. Then I found you! I think its fixed. I am nooberfied in this stuff and had no business doing this stuff in the first place. I'm back to square one like when I got the phone, but thats better than where I was at before. Thank you.

    hahaha

I registered just to tell the guy who posted the frog story in response to the lame question that I laughed so hard I was crying. Either it is true and it's funny as sheet or you have given the best reply ever to that type of annoying question and it is still funny as sheet. Thanks, either way, that was frickin' hysterical!!!

FYI, pal, some of us brick devices because we like to experiment and are curious. We like to tinker with devices. No big deal, eh? Unless we are asking you to fly out and fix it for us? We are all quite aware of the possibility of bricking a toy- we like to live on the edge, take risks. It's not like it's our momma's life we're messing with. It's a gadget.

And some of us like to get pictures of frogs after we've forced them to jump out of the water with our electronics.

Tonight I used this guide to flash my husband's Droid back to 2.0.1 stock, and a few minutes after he activated it and synced it he got the update box, hit Install Now, and it rebooted, installed the update, rebooted, and he had 2.2 FRG01B. All in a single update. I was too slow to try and capture the file though.

However, I did the same with my Droid and did not get any OTA update at all. So I'm thinking I'm not 'on the list' so to speak, yet. Maybe if it's not your time for froyo, you don't even get the 2.1 OTA. Seems logical to me.

However, his Droid doesn't show Flash in the Market, so it's nothing newer than what is already out there.
