Getting SPRecovery back after 2.1 update

Well i jumped the gun a bit and installed the Verizon 2.1 update. It (of course) un-rooted my phone, and installed the stock droid boot loader back on.

If i ran the update.zip to bring the phone back to a stock 2.0.1 to go through the process of re-rooting the phone, do you think it would brick it? Let me know what you guys think.

I don't think you can go back after that update. You may have to wait a few days for them to root the update. I could be wrong though.

I want to root later on, and I figure they will get it opened up.

The update is really crap... i was imagining that it would add the new launcher like the nexus one but that was an epic fail.

    Anyone else?

You can use the .sbf file to go back to 2.0.1. Then you can redo the whole process.

How do you use the .sbf file to go back to 2.0.1?

I did try using the original update.zip to go back to 2.0.1 it does nothing at all the process aborts. Did the pinch to zoom work for anyone. that is the reason i want root back.

You can always add the helix launcher as well as any other apps / you just lose the o/c and framework options --- for now

My wife said I spent too much time on my Droid.
So I bought her one. End of story...
