HELP! Screen wont turn on.

Edit: Phone turns on but volume keys dont seem to do anything. The phone is on...i just cant get to the d-pad up screen (whatever its supposed to be.)

I'm trying to reply but the quoted text isn't changing...then I realized you edited it from "won't fire up at all now" to the above message.

The dpad up screen is black with white text and looks like the quoted text I posted earlier. I would wager that screen has nothing to do with a rom and is a boot up bios type screen.

Let your phone charge overnight. (9:30pm here, what time is it there?) and we'll see how you are doing in 8 hours or so. How old is the phone, do you have insurance? A dead screen is a warrenty issue so I'd think you could swap it out at the store. I've seen a few posts saying don't flash roms if your battery isn't 100% too and sometimes they get sucked down quickly. I've always done it on the charger. If it is still dead in a few hours bring it in for a swap.

Again....if you dial your phone do you get any response after letting it boot up "normally"? If not, power down, let it charge more.

Sorry for the hectic responses. I'll try charging it for longer but its hard to tell if its even charging. Sometimes the light on the side comes on and sometimes it doesnt. The screen stopped working in landscape mode with naterade rom so i flashed to smoked glass. When i rebooted the next time the screen stopped working. Its leading me to believe it may be a screen issue but i still dont understand why i cant get to the bootload menu.

Don't be sorry. I'd be hectic if my phone wasn't working too...especially if it stopped because of something I thought I did

Either the screen is toast or your battery is dead and needs charging - are my two best guesses and I'll go with battery being dead until it charges for 8 hours with no change in behavior.

If the screen is dead warranty will cover it and you'll have a new phone tomorrow if a store is near by. If its the battery you'll be up and running in the morning. Either way, post back so we know how it turns out.

Thanks again for the help. The phone is completely unresponsive. Its been plugged into the charger this whole time but i dont think its even charging because the white light doesnt come on. Verizon is sending me a replacement since all the stores around me are sold out (weird). Should have a new phone on tuesday. I REALLY think this was a hardware problem not related to rooting (ive had some screen issues before rooting involving the screen being unresponsive during/after calls) but is there anyway they will try to charge me for this if they get the phone working and see its rooted?

"Any way"? Of course there is always a chance. My guess is they flash the phone and move on. They may scavenge parts and replace the screen or they may drop the whole thing in the trash. Say they replace the screen. The next step is to get the phone back to stock so it doesn't have your data on it. The tech flashes the phone and moves on to the next one they have to deal with.
Even if the tech realized the phone was rooted he'd then have to decide not to flash it then and there and turn it into the "root police". Highly unlikely, enjoy your new phone
