Matth3w, how about a sbf walkthrough?

With the way things have been advancing, and ERE and ESE Roms coming out, How about you give us another walkthrough dealing with the matching the sbf? I thought sbf was used to restore your Droid to stock. Im cool with the nandroid, sprecovery, etc, but the sbf stuff is confusing and the only thing keeping me from running a new 2.1 rom.

sbf is the last resort deal. Or at least it should be. If not done correctly it will actually bedrock your phone. That's why dealers have it and we shouldn't lol.

does the sbf thread not have instructions anymore?

    Edit for typo

I have been following the ERE and ESE threads, and they are recommending matching the sbf to the rom (ERE or ESE), and thats where it all changes to Latin for me.

Thanks guys, I wasnt sure if it was more that that or not. Much rather ask now, instead of coming back and saying I screwed up my phone, what did I do wrong????

Yeah I definitely know what you mean...I avoided .sbf for the longest time cause it seemed so scary!! Lol seriously, but when ere25 was released, I broke down and did it...and honestly, I didn't think it was any worse than anything else we've doing IMO.

Just use that first link as a guide. And use the the other 2 .sbf files I linked to follow the guide...cause they wrote that guide when only the 2.0.1 and 2.0 .sbf files were available

With the SBF method, you can't brick your phone.... it's quite the oppossite actually, if your phone is bricked it will restore it.

I did this last night for the first time and the only issue I had was getting RSD working on win 7 64 bit.... it was a pain in the arse, but after tweaking some settings and compatibility mode, then running the commands via shell it worked just fine.

If you have an xp machine I recommend using that rather then win 7.

A corrupted install of an sbf file has borked a phone.

I know the point of sbf, but just because it can save a phone in most situations doesn't make it any less possibly damaging than it really is.

    It can break a phone.
