Droid wont turn on HELP
possible brick situation idk. i just installed 2.1 Simply Stunning OC and it froze up after install and went black. did battery pull and plugged it in and everything. it wont boot at all, no moto logo at all. the battery was about dead >5%. that may have something to do with it. right now its just plugged in, the white light on the side comes on.
ideas?

Let it charge overnight, and then try again, if it's still not getting past the little vibration in the boot sequence try booting into SPrecovery. Did you wipe data/cache partition before going to SS?
-
First of all, WHY would you flash a ROM at 5% battery???????????????
That's about one of the biggest mistakes you could have done man...
It's not bricked, but will probably take ALL night just to charge up
-
natediddy. dont be so dramatic. took about 10 minutes of charging. and yes i wiped before going into SS. im running at 1.1ghz and everything is good now. battery is just a little hot but this is the first time running past 900mhz

I'm just saying man
lol that's always one of the basic rules of flashing ROMs. Some even say to not flash a ROM unless you have 100% full battery. I mean I've flashed mine around 30 or 40% before, but never lower than that, I care about my Droid tooooo much to be worrying about coming on. Lol, just because it was okay this time definitely doesn't mean it will be the next time for sure

lol ive "hacked" just about everything i own. psp, nin ds, droid, iphone, ipod touch, xbox 1, xbox 360, ps2, wii. only my ps3 is original because my dad wont let me touch his :P. i stopped worrying about little things like that a long time ago

I've got the same issue right now. I installed Droidmod 1.0 last night. No real problems with that, I got stuck at the M but a reboot fixed it.
Every now and then I like to run my phone down all the way and charge it up overnight, I did that last night, except that it didn't give me a 'power down' message, it simply shut itself off. I went to bed without plugging it in, and now this morning it won't boot up, I've had it plugged in for about 2 hours. Any ideas? Should I just let it charge?

Almost too coincidental if you ask me..
EXACT thing is happening with me, Installed DM last night, phone died overnight, now wont boot up

Strange. I've installed Droidmod 1.0 with no problems in the past though. I can't make up my mind between stock and that
It also got rather hot the first time I plugged it in this morning, but hasn't gotten hot since (I removed the battery, let it cool and put it back in).
I'm hoping I just really ran it down and it'll just charge for a while and be alright.
I've never wiped data installing DM either, didn't seem necessary going from 2.0.1 to 2.0.1... perhaps I should start.

Yes let it charge for a long time. If the white LED comes on you should be alright. People need to get out of the habit of running these phones dry. Lithium Ion batteries do not need to be conditioned, do not need to be run down, and actually work best charged above 50% I always plug mine in when it gets down to 40% and leave it till its fully charged. Or I'll plug it in if I'm not using it. If I can I will leave it plugged in while surfing the web at work.
