battery died, now i'm stuck in a booting loop

i have bb 1.1, and my battery is down to 5%, and it won't go no higher. i tried turning the phone off, but it comes back on by itself if i plug it back in, and it is still at 5% as i'm typing this. it gets to the lock screen for about 30 secs then it reboots again and goes back to that booting loop. it won't start charging until it gets to the boot screen and not when it's turned off.

any suggestions this is really ticking me off.

if you are overclocked I would try to rachet that way down (if u get the chance before it reboots).... I also find it moderately annoying that u can't charge your phone while its off.

Are you charging via usb or the wall? Charge rates vary for computers, and there have been reports that sometimes it just isn't enough. Try plugging into the wall instead.

if i can get back to the screen i'll try to turn it back to 550, and i have it plugged into the wall via usb charger. i forgot my actual plug at work

weird..it's supposedly charging from the computer usb, while it's turned off..i tried putting it in airplane mode so no data would come through like all 80,000 text messages from the same person all night.

wavesecure didn't make it any easier as it kept popping up tellin me to put my pin in everytime i turned the phone on, so that took up the little bit of time i had to get the phone setup to charge

I am having this same issue, but I think it might actually be charging now but I don't want to touch it to make sure. Did you ever figure out how to get out of the loop? Will it charge in recovery mode if you could get it to boot into that?

as black said it will not you will have to get friends battery or go to vzw to charge it.

ok i got it working..i installed roberj13 BE theme 1.0.4.1, then i installed the p3 1ghz kernel which i think ruined it...i got both from rom manager, so i wiped data/cache then reinstalled the rom, now it charges. i actually downloaded the kernel from the cyanogen section in rom manager, i'm not sure if that has anything to do with it, but i'm thinking the kernel had messed everything up.
