How do I install nexus one boot on my unrooted droid?

I've tried searching but it's very cluttered and I can't find anywhere that gives me the answers to the few questions I have.

1: Can I get the Nexus One boot animation on my UNROOTED Droid?

2: If yes, how?

3: If no, do I need to root? If I need to root, do you have any simple guide on rooting and applying a Nexus One boot animation to a rooted Droid?

Need the SDK also known as ADB. Just do a search for it in the top right corner of Active Topics. This can be done without root.
