I'm not sure what proper temps are but I can say two things. By defualt, all temps given are BATTERY temps. If you want processor temps you need the newest BB7.9+ or SmokedGlass 4.0+ (I think its 4.0). Second, using networking services, especially 3G, creates a lot of heat on its own.

How are you getting your temperature readings? Is this from the battery?
It's been said up to 80 c is as high as you should go. Most people have their profiles no higher then 50 c.
So google 116 in Centigrade and see what your temp is. And just an FYI there are many, many threads on temperature. You can get more details with a search.

Wow, I have mine overclocked to 1.2Ghz and I only run about 100-105F while surfing hard. My profiles are similar to yours.
Is that battery temp or cpu temp? If it's battery temp, I'd get a new battery.

Do you have a case on your Droid? I'm thinking this would make a significant difference for some of us.

I'm running CM 6.1.2 on my OG droid. Can anyone tell me if this firmware automatically changed my cpu speeds, if so to what?
Better yet can anyone tell me of a good overclocking app?
I am new to this world and CM 6.1.2 is the first rom i have run. Is there settings in this that i am missing that can over clock??
Thanks in advance!

CM6 allows you to modify your CPU settings under the "Performance" tab but doesn't change much by default from the stock settings.
I use custom kernels. I recommend raidzero's kernels: [KERNELS] Low Voltage 2.6.32.9). They're the best I've used yet. Cool temps for the speed and very smooth. My choice kernel is LV 125-800 MHz set on the INTERACTIVE governor. Great mix of speed and battery life. Most of the ROMs I use have built in CPU settings (CM6 & CM7 do, as well as UD3 and PE5). If they don't, I use SetCPU. In CM6 they should be under "Performance" and then "CPU Settings" under the Cyanogenmod Settings tab.
Other than that, a lot of people use the Milestone Overclock App. I just haven't taken the time to familiarize myself with it yet, but will when I get time.
Hope that answers your questions.

I'm pretty new to this yet and don't feel comfortable changin kernels just yet....so ill start with the alternative.
I don't see any CPU settings under 'performance' in CM6?? What the heck??? Again, I'm running CM6.1.2 on my OG droid. Anyone know what's up with this???
Maybe I should just drop thee $2 and get SETCPU?
Thoughts?
