Stop overclocking?
How do I reverse the overclocking of the processor? Do I just remove the SetCPU app, or can I turn it off in that app. I have it set to 800.250 default and 550/250 for all other profiles. I have the failsafe at >38. I was browsing the web and it started getting hot. It was getting to 44C according to TempMonitor. Is this normal? It seems hot and it was hitting 44C when it was in 550/250.

those temps are fine. I run at 1200mhz with no ill effects. Your processor is ok to 70c, if you want it lower, set it to 550 on setCPU, and you're back to stock speed

Yeah I have it default to 250/550 for over 38 degrees and it still gets to 44-45C when at 250/550. Should it get that high even on that setting?

depends what youre doing. I dont worry until I hit about 120F. Playing robo defense when my phone was bone stock, it got really hot... I'm running 1200mhz right now...

It's your hardware so I recommend only operating with what you are comfortable with. That being said I run mine on performance set at 1200/600 and haven't noticed any ill effects. 44C should be fine to operate at but again stick with what you are comfortable with.

Yes, I've hit 118 at one time and it didn't do any harm.

Did some stress tests. I was loading webpages over and over, getting the temps to rise. With no failsafe and 800/250 at about 51C I got a force close. With failsafe on >40 degrees, the 550/250 kicks in and I keep going up to 51C and a force close. I don't recall this happening without the SetCPU controlling the clock. If I uninstall the setCPU app, will it go back to "stock" speed or do I have to get rid of BB 7.5 to get back to the stock clock?

you realize the failsafe is if the battery reaches that temperature, not the processor...

Yeah I know its battery. It just seems the phone is running hot. I am running BB 7.6 now and I was downloading a podcast mp3 and it was running at 600 MHz. The back of the phone wad getting pretty hot and SetCPU was at 44 C and rising it seemed.

Tons of threads asking this same question. 44 Celsius is NOT TOO HOT.
