Cannot get Smoked Pandora or Facebook to work.

Brock make sure the file is renamed to " Facebook.apk" it must be named with a capital "F" I think I forget to do it in the zip and when trying to push it with a lowercase F it would not skin it stayed white. but changing the file name to Capital F worked.

so open root explorer to /system/app and rename your file to Facebook.apk

i downloaded smoked glass theme and used metamorph to skin Facebook.apk

i tried everything you did to get facebook to work, and it didnt until i used MM

I had a backup of facebook from Astro on my sdcard. I renamed it to Facebook.apk and then moved it into the /system/app directory. After that I went to Metamorph and applied the smokeglass theme. I only selected Facebook theme and I got it to work. Maybe give that a try.

I only have com.facebook.katana or what ever in data/apps. I have nothing in system/apps.

well then you can't apply a metamorph theme it must be moved to /system/app/Facebook.apk

i cant get the pandora.apk to work. I do as the instructions say but in TE after i input the busybox line and hit enter i get a line that says "app: applet not found". Is that supposed to be there or is it an error?

edit: ok im a tool, guess it helps to actually understand what im reading, guess it helps to put the spaces in when typing in TE

I thought I read you either had to pull or remane the original file, I dont remember where. The other issue I had was forgetting to uninstall the original app when I did pandora last night.

FWIW, I have had some instances where permissions were not set properly after copying the APK to /system/app and that was causing a headache, especially when trying to get Smoked Glass Pandora working. To set the permissions properly, run this command after copying the APK from your SD card to /system/app:

chmod 644 /system/app/YourFile.apk

Then proceed as normal with remounting the file system and rebooting your phone.

For those that prefer to set permissions via a file browser, you should set the following:

rw-r--r-- (that is Read and Write for 'User' and Read for 'Group' and 'Others')
