Help needed please .... please

hi everyone, good to be here. i have a milestone, the droid 1 to be precise. i have tried to root the damn thing so many times with z4root and the droid 3 easy root script, according to the instructions on this site, the damn thing refuses to root it is so laggy i wanna overclock the thing so it can be usable on 2.2.1. i am new to this rooting, and now i don't know what more to do, i wanna make it faster, with or without rooting it. please help me what should i do, i don't wanna damage it please. how should i root it, there has to be a surefire way of safely rooting it

You can try Pete' s motorola Root Tools. Search google for it..
