Trust me it would help out a lot. I get tons of emails asking me very easy questions that can be answered 10 times better in my videos. Theres nothing better than a visual hands on learning experience.

Silly question, but since this thread is all of the guides and tutorials and stuff...

Let's say I root my phone and install a ROM. The ROM installs as an update, right? I mean, all of my applications remain installed, but the OS software is what's modified, correct?

I tried the 2.1 Launcher in 2.0.1 and it was laggy and FCed often. Do the 2.1 based ROMs not have this issue?

You've pointed out how easy it is to root and make a nandroid backup (I was one of those who thought this was crazy complicated), so I'm considering this if Motorola doesn't do the 2.1 update soon (honestly, the phone's functionality does all I want, but those are some nifty GUI updates with the live wallpaper and all).

If I do I just want to go with the ROM that, well, works the best I guess?

Honestly all the 2.1 roms out there are pretty buggy. BUT the ROM's with the 2.1 launcher that are installed on a 2.0.1 platform arnt that bad. In fact I use the 2.1 launcher with my Bugless Beast Rom and it works just fine. Live wallpapers were tried a few times but just kept the phone at its knees. So thats still in the works.

I followed the instructions and it seemed to work, but the icon is different.
My icon looks like the market icon not a ninja. Do you have to install an icon package for the ninja to appear? Or why else would my icon look like the market place icon. The folder says Superuser Permission and i can click on it and there is 2 files in the folder.
