how to remove google talk from droid?

I noticed that when google talk is running, my youtube videos don't really load at all and if they do they are really slow. Is there some way I can remove it?

This is a default app, so, in order to remove it, you would have to be rooted and remove it with a terminal or ADB with the specific commands to do so....unless theirs an easier way I'm not aware of!

I know with ADB you can do a "pull" but don't know if you have to have root to execute.

I tried to remove gtalkservice.apk and gtalkservice.odex from /system/app once and when I rebooted I kept getting an error. Now each time I reboot the device I go to running services and kill the gtalk service.
