2/9/10 Update: Alldroid Beta 0.2b Out and guide updated. The 2.1 ROM should run smoother and shouldn't be as much bugs. Keyboard backlight and LED fully work now. With this update you have to wipe your phone even if you have the alldroid beta 0.1 ROM.

This guide will help you install Pete's 2.1 ESE81 Bugless Beast v1.1(Top of guide) ROM or Pete's 2.2 Froyo ROM.(Bottom of guide)
First you need root. Here is how to root:
Download this: DMUpdater
You can skip steps 1-7 if you are already rooted.

1. Copy the dmupdater-11.apk to your root of you sd card.
2. Now head to the Android Market and download ASTRO File Manager.
3. On your Droid go into Settings-Applications and make sure that Unknown Sources is checked. This makes it so you can install dmupdater.
4. Exit out of settings and open up ASTRO. Go to your sdcard. It should automatically be on /sdcard when you open it up. Find dmupdater and click on it. Hit Open App Manager. Then hit install.
5. Open up DroidMod Updater. It should say "Your phone is not rooted." Just click Root my phone. Now it should download the update-root.zip file and root your phone.
6. Now you should have superuser permissions app in your app drawer. Looks like a ninja or #.
7. Now open up DMUpdater again and it should say it wants you to flash the recovery. Just click OK on everything. If you want the DroidMod 1.0 ROM(Optional), then go into ROM menu and select it.

4. Click on Bugless Beast. It should be the third one down.
5. Click on Bugless Beast V1.1. It will then download the ROM.
6. After its finished a window will pop up. Make sure the Backup and Wipe Data and Cache boxes are checked.
7. Let it finish and then you have Android 2.1 ESE81.

SetCPU works just make sure you select auto detect not droid when you first start it up. Keyboard I think still doesn't fully work. Thats just a issue with 2.1 that won't be fixed till its official.
