    I don't have a windows machine so I can't use ADB...if you download android terminal emulator from the market, anything you can do on ADB you can physically do on your droid, just type in the codes verbatim, leaving out the ADB part, start with su to switch to superuser and go from there following instructions. If that sounds more complicated I apologize just trying to let you know your options!

    You can also return pretty easy using the update.zip process. Obtain a virgin update.zip apply it in the Recovery screen (Hold the x key and the power key while rebooting, if its the stock recovery you will have to hold the up volume and camera button if you have the ! screen.).     I tried a fresh cop of the update last night. I still have the SU icon though. I know i can use ADB (I think) to remove it but i was hoping there was a "better" (meaning easier) way.

    The important part here is clearing the cache partition, have you done this?
