Did you wipe data and cache prior to the install?
I've tried anything and everything I can think of I've wiped, restored, everything but it just gets stuck boot looping, it shows the M screen then droid then the red eye but never gets past that
This is strange. Last evening, two of us were trying to help another member who had the same issue Help! ROMs not installing! :(. The solution was installing a different rom.
Hope this helps.

i am a complete noob, i have been reading for a few days on this and finally tried it. step 7 i hit a wall
--install from sdcard...
finding update package...
opening update package...
verifying update package...
E:EOCD marker occurs after start of EOCD
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
the file in named properly i dont know what i am doing wrong
Does the initial update.zip file work on stock 2.1update1? Or do I need to flash my phone to 2.0.1?
Been trying to flash my phone with the instructions above and I get stuck on one step.
When I hit enter in TM, it gives me write errors, and out of memory on device.
I don't understand why, I have all apps on sdcard. SDcard is nowhere near full.
Moto Droid1, 2.2, wiped and cleared/uninstalled programs and data before starting.
------------------------- RESOLVED ----------------------------------------------
After a sleepless night, I finally resolved the problem. For some reason I had to force stop quite a few programs with a widget/app.
Installed Cyanogen! Works great, now for some tethering and overclocking.
Thanks for great walkthrough!

19. Type '/system/bin/flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-0.99.3.img'. It should be noted that this command is all on one line, not two separate commands. There should be a short pause as the custom recovery image is flashed and then the command prompt will appear again. At this point, the stock recovery screen has now been replaced by the one you will see in steps later on. This recovery image was written by SirPsycoS and is shared by him at sholes.info.
After I do this i get a error that no file or directory exists.
I went to the root of the sd card and made sure I had the file names like they were supposed to be according to the tutorial. Below are the actual file names copy and pasted:
flash_image
recovery-0.99.3.img
I can only guess /i typed something wrong but i did it over twice to make sure. I assume that when i try again I will have to restart from the beginning of this section correct?
Anyone know whats wrong?
Samsung Fascinate
Thanks....
i tried one more time
"error scanning partition: No such file or directory"
