At this point, I personally recommend premium Rom Manager. Once you have root. Rom Manager is the easiest method, and I think it's the direction Pete is going for his new releases, as well as many others. One $5 fee gives you several roms, kernels, themes, system fonts, etc to choose from. It asks if you want to back up every time you switch, so you always have a restore that will give you everything you had, from installed apps to actual system settings. Quick, painless, and stable. Look for it in the market once you're rooted.

famous for simple questions - -> doh!

I see where some folks running vista had some problems, with renaming files, and other items.....the question....

Has someone who followed these instructions done so using an iMac with a dual processor? Anything I need to be aware of before I start?

    Thanks.

I saw early in this thread someone asking (after they had rooted) what was the differences he/she should look for, that they didn't reaLLY NOTICE ANYTHING SPECIFIC. (oops-sorry bout the caps)

Is that happening to anyone else? I sorta thought that there were several themes available, albeit perhaps thru different roms, and some custom icons and screens etc.

    Any opinions?

    thx,
    fish

just as green as Irish Eyes!

My Droid is running on Firmware Version 2.1-update 1. Will that not work to gain root? Do I need to back it down to 2.0.1?

    Thx

Anyone have the link to the BB ROM? The one posted here is dead and I can't find it anywhere else.

My pleasure; others here and other forums have been as kind (and quick) to me. Please note, I just saw the update to your post looking for Petes BB. The link I posted is BB v1.1 just released yesterday. I hope that is what you were seeking?
