    My problem is this:
    10. Download the file flash_image from here. This file should NOT have a file extension!!! Make sure it does not have a file extension of ANY TYPE!!! If you or your computer have added a file extension (some users have reported that their computer added a .txt at the end of the file) it will not work!!!

I have vista and i cannot download this without the .txt extension.
    How do I do this?
    Thanks
    Ron
Then download with the '.txt' extension and simply delete the '.txt' extension. Good to go.
For some reason I couldn't do that.
What I found out ( thanks Google ) save as and put the " Flash_image " in these quotes. Then it saves fine.
Just finished the nandroid back up.
    will report back!!
    Thanks all

After using this thread to root, load BB 0.7.4, and overclock to 800, I am experiencing lag. According to Temp Monitor, I am also seeing temps around 105F. Is this normal? If not, suggestions on how to possibly fix these issues would be appreciated!

I noticed a lot of people were saying they would do a "wipe/install" for BB again? Does that mean you would do a factory reset? I'm confused since I have an unrooted stock 2.0.1 rom on my droid. Should I do a factory reset before doing all this rooting/install? Or should I root/install and then factory reset?? I'm not even sure if "wipe/install" means factory reset. Sorry for the dumb question. Thank you.

if you have stock 2.0.1, just follow the instructions on the first page and you'll be fine.

    no need to erase anything.

One more thing should I uninstall all the 2.1 apps? I have the gallery installed right now?

Is setCPU the only way to overclock though? It would seem to me there should be a manual way to accomplish this. I realize the app is only .99 but it's the principle, I haven't found a need for a paid app yet.

Well I just decided to pick up setCPU for now. I will see if I can figure out a way to do it manually later. I couldn't wait any longer to see if there truly was a performance increase. All I can say is wow, very impressed!

So now my first question, and I did use the search function first , how do you force any apps you download/install to do so on the sdcard then. Unless I'm missing something simple it doesn't appear they are currently??

Never seen that error before, did you completely restart and use my guide? In other words, are you using the SAME EXACT version of SPReovercy that's in my guide? I have to go to the airport and fly back home so hopefully someone can help you.
