can i be rooted and still update

ok i rooted my phone when i forst got it and then when it came time to update the software i realized i couldnt. Long story short it was a pain in the ass to get it where i could update.My question is is there any possible way now that im updated to reroot and then when it comes time to update not have to go through abunch of crap like sbfing and unrooting.

To reroot... You should be able to just use the d3 one click root...
And to keep it from bring such a pain... Just freeze the system apps... So you can just unfreeze them... Or actually... Just make a back up of stock...

i did but i got rid of it because it was a pain in the ass and then wont i lose all my apps that i downloaded if i backed up

You can use it... You just have to go to back up and restore/back up...and it well make an complete back up of your phone... So you can restore to exactly how it was at that time
