Gingerbread for Droid 2

So, I rooted my Droid 2. The update to Gingerbread won't work, which I figured on. Unrooted, still won't work. All attempted downloads from filesharing sites have been taken down. Help?

I too as well have been trying to factory reset so that I can get the update. I have a D2 that I rooted, have koush bootstrap, and rom manager on. I have tried wiping the cache, and data. Done a factory restore.

When I plug in to my computer while running RSDlite 4.8 with the VRZ_A955_2.3.20 sbf I dont see my phone, even though I reboot and try in both bootstraps, I get a drive letter in my computer but nothing shows in RSD.


One more thing is I have changed the boot logo and the boot animation, could these be the issue for the failed OTA update?

Any help would be great, ive tried everything else that I can find on all forums, including changing the name to update.zip and loading it using bootstrap and got an error, something about check error

UPDATE: restored from ROM manager to a backup from yesterday for now.

Ok so I got my phone sbf back to 2.2, now it doesnt give me the choice to OTA the update.

UPDATE: ok im a dumbass forgot to activate my phone after doing the sbf. Trying to OTA now

I'm attempting to 2.2 again. How do YOU root? I forgot how I did mine, and the ZP4 file didn't seem to work.

Ok im successfully upgraded and rerooted.

Basically did the sbf back to 2.2 three times for it to take then used the droid3 one button root then reloaded progs with titanium.

Lovin the upgrade phone is smokin fast atm...

I just managed to get myself back to rooted 2.2... I can't download OTA. I think it's because I removed the stock browser... still no luck updating.

If you removed anything you will have to go back and sbf to accept the update....I had deleted skype and was having the same issue with the ota.....sbf and no problems

Well crap. Tried that with RSD Lite, and couldn't get it to acknowledge my phone. Any ideas how I can do that?

When you start rsd lite...put your phone in bootloader...up arrow and power...connect to computer...it should say something on line one....click on that and see if it shows up in the box in top left....if that doesn't work you may have to update your drivers or make sure they are installed on your computer
