questions after installing FRG83D on Droid 1

I gained root a while back using "root regardless of OS version"

I just installed FRG83D (stock rooted from peter a's website) following this with SPRecover: Flashing a ROM on a Droid 1 - Best Practices


everything seemed to go well. Booted back up and the wallpaper is still the same one I had set before updating and it connected to secured Wifi without me putting in the key. So it seems like wiping did something different than I expected or the wipe did not work?

Also it seems like the Apps are coming back automatically (or where never gone?).


So is this all normal or did I manage to mess something up along the way?
