    Information Overload - Trying to root and upgrade OS A853

    Ok so i'm new to this and am having a current information overload as well as an error. I have been trying to Root my Droid 1 A853 and so far have got to the point of hitting start and i get the following error message:

    I'm getting really frustrated. I'm currently running Android 2.1 and also want to Upgrade my OS to the best option i can for my phone.

    I have read 4 hours worth of "usefull information" so far and am just so fricken confused as to what is relevant to my problems i'm worse of now than when i started.

    I run Windows 7 32Bit.

    Sensible help is highly appreciated!

    Are you on a Droid or milestone? The Droid is the a855, not the a853. Was that just a typo? If your phone is actually the a853 you might try looking for root instructions for the milestone. I don't know if there's a difference for sure, but could be an issue.

    Do a search for this post title "rooted my milestone..". Type exactly what is in the quotes, including the two periods. It has the answers you are looking for. Are you using rsd lite or universal androot? Universal androot sounds like a one click root method.

    Best, and only thread! How to root, install custom roms, list of all roms MUST SEE!
