Rooted OG Droid--Can't install updates from market

I've got an original droid which is rooted (regardless method). FRG83G. I can download updates from the android market, but I can't install them. I get the following message:

"Couldn't install on USB storage or SD card."

I cleared the cache on the market and force stopped it and it still won't install an update. I've tried multiple apps that need an update and none of them work.

Additional info--I just re-rooted. I had rooted in the past and purchased SeptCPU. I uninstalled while I wasn't rooted. I was able to download and install it just now. I still can't get any other updates though.

Any help would be appreciated.

Try hooking it up to a computer and mounting sdcard to the computer and then delete the .Android_secure folder and then rebooting without unmounting from the computer (it will automatically mount to the phone upon reboot...also try deleting the market apps data and cache right before you reboot after deleting .Android_secure
At last resort do a factory data reset
