When I review my system info for temps I see this AK8973. Is this my CPU? If not then;
1. What is it? and
2. Does the stock kernal for Droid 2.2 support CPU temp monitering? and
3. If it does what is a good app for that to run with Liberty 1.5?

Question 1
Just looked at TempMonitor on my d1 and I have AK8973 as well but if you go into your settings and turn off the cpu monitor the AK8973 one is still there which means that's your battery temperature and not your cpu temperature.

Not sure since i have a d1 but if you would like to find out for yourself you can do this download TempMonitor from the market if you don't already have it hit the menu soft key and select preferences then check App Screen CPU Temp if it tells you that it's not supported then cpu temperature is not supported other wise go out of the settings and you will now see your cpu temp

Um i think you're asking what is a good app to monitor you cpu temp? if so i use TempMonitor and that has always worked well for me
