    Rooting without a PC?

    Ok not sure if this is the right place for this, but here goes..

    I am an ultra nub but I'm interested in possibly rooting my Fascinate. I want to be able to use my phone for an internet connection on my wii (netflix).

    That and I hate the 6598035898 apps that verizon slapped on this phone that I don't want, yet can't remove.

    Is rooting the best/only option for this. If so, would a very patient soul be willing to explain the basics of rooting to me (i.e. What exactly it is, how it works etc.)?
