I have no clue as to what is going on here. I wiped my phone clean, named the file update which I have to with windows vista instead of update.zip, put it on the top of my SD card, powered off, got to recovery screen, installed update, re-booted and no su app. I saw someone mention that this file does not have the su in it so I downloaded from a location that they recommended which they say has the su app, went through all the steps again and still no su app. Does anyone have any suggestions, my phone does have the 2.0.1 update already.,
Wher is step 12 Flash 12(or 14?) Recovery i dont have that option

Some one help! I'm trying to get the root done first.
I put the Update.zip into my root directory of my SD card I put it in the Android System Recovery
After I click "apply sdcard: update.zip it says:
install from sdcard
finding update package
opening update package
verifying update package
installing update package
rooting your phone....
Install from sdcard complete
is that it? It DOES NOT reboot on it's own, and I don't see the "superuser" thing...
Can someone help
edit: Nevermind it worked this time for some reason?

Quick suggestion. It might be helpful for some to mention that the "nandroid" menu is actually called backup/restore.
I cant seem to know if the droid is rooted, after doing the first few steps and updating using the file to root provided i don't see the superuser app. Do i download that from somewhere or something? or did i do something wrong. Just like the person above said.
Hopefully we get an answer to why we cant see the superuser app I have tried this three times now
