you must not have superuser privileges
I have superuser on my app list and it opens just fine.
Droid Root Helper
Mount mtdblock3
Mount mtdblock4
Install CHmod Busybox
Install Chmod Flash Image
Rename Recovery Boot from Boot.p
Flash 14.0 Recovery (Mine was 14.0)
Unmount mtdblock3
Unmount mtdblock4
Reboot Recovery
In that order. I would guess you might have missed the rename recovery boot from boot.p step. If you miss that you will not get the new recovery boot.
Can I just do it all over again or am I screwed up here?
Did those steps..and still nothing more than an info box when I click reboot recovery. Sorry guys. dont mean to be a pain in the butt.
Updated now to include live wall papers and all the current 2.1 fixes. Check it out.

Thank you so much for this, I was so lost! And for those who are wondering, the Nandroid sub-menu is in Backup/Restore.
Glad it worked for you. Im still trying to get it to work. Obviously something i am doing wrong.
Have posted this in other threads but still have not received an answer yet. Rooted my phone, flashed the recovery image, installed 2.1, and everything is working fine. Now my questions is, what happens when the official update for 2.1 comes out? Am I going to have to wait for someone to create an .img for it as well, or in the case of 2.0.1 there was a zip file released for those that didn't want to wait on the OTA, if you just apply the update.zip what happens? Do I lose root?
